About Teresa “Tree” Obin
Tree is a licensed and insured massage therapist. She was schooled at the Palmer Institute of Massage and Bodywork in Salem, MA, graduating in the spring of 2005.
Tree worked at Bodywork Day Spa in Hull, MA, for just under four years. There she massaged 15-18 clients each week, many of whom were consistent regulars. She left in March of ’09 to go into business for herself. It was a difficult decision to make because the work was steady and the setting was wonderful, but doing so afforded her the flexibility she has always wanted so that she and her husband Carl can go on vacation more often to their home in Jamaica. She and her husband are both firm believers in the concept that life is too short not to enjoy it as much as possible!
Prior to becoming a massage therapist, Teresa earned B.A.'s in Spanish and Psychology from Williams College in Williamstown, MA. Teresa worked as a Spanish teacher and an athletic coach (soccer and lacrosse) for 11 years. The final 10 of those 11 years were at Thayer Academy Middle School in Braintree, which also happens to be her alma mater as well as where she met her husband Carl. They got married in 2002 and bought their dream vacation home in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in 2004. It was just after that when Tree decided to change careers, and the two of them have carved out a very nice life for themselves ever since.
Tree divides her time among work, vacations to Jamaica, Red Sox games, movies, and spending quality time with family and friends.
